Tada!

Greetings once again. It has been a busy week. My mom is visiting me and so I have been spending the evenings with her for the most part. She heads back tomorrow and says she has had a really good time and she is happy that she got to see a bunch of stuff out here.

As for me, I had my adventures this past weekend, which have led into being tired this week. I didn't get a lot of sleep over the weekend, and then I've been getting to bed late this week. So I am a bit sleepy. All is good though, I get to sleep in on Friday morning. So hooray for that.

I must say that I've eaten out quite a bit since my mom got here. Its been fun and its all been good, but I am nearing that point that I am gonna wanna cook stuff for myself. I've had quite a bit of Mexican food in the past week and all. Plus plenty of other stuffs. Oh yes, I passed my pft on monday.

Well, I suppose I'll leave this post a bit short, got some camping coming up this weekend and all. So it should be good. Posted some pictures on the photo blog of this past weekend. I probably need to mail my mom some pictures that I took for her. And hopefully tonight I can get to sleep a bit earlier then I have been.

Back Home

So I made it back from Albuquerque. We drove down starting this morning. Stopped in Socorro for breakfast and then cruised along for a bit. The next stop was briefly at Valley of Fires, to take a few pictures and all. Then after that we stopped at the Eagle Ranch to get some nuts and then also at the winery so Mom could pick up some wine. Finally got back in, but just long enough to switch out shoes and then we were off to White Sands to poke about there. Finally made it home and now is time to relax and such. I'm off to take a shower and rest.

Just as a note there are some new photos up from my weekend on the photo blog. And to those who just now hit 100 posts, This month this will be post 10 on this blog, 5 posts on the nerd blog and 7 posts to the photo blog. So ha!

I wish you all well out there in blog land.

Adventures in New Mexico

Greetings again! I hope all is going well for you blog fans out there. You see my mother has come to visit and so I have been adventuring. I have been tired from work, but it has not stopped the adventures.

Friday we drove up to Albuquerque. Stopped along the way in Socorro. We ate at the brewery. It twas good. And then we made it up to Albuquerque. Then this morning we drove up and spent some time in Santa Fe. After that we went into Old Town Albuquerque. We also went onto Kirkland.

I realize that doesn't sound like much. But it ended up being about 12 hours of running about. Adventures will continue, fear not. Also eventually I'll put up a few pictures from this weekend on the other blog, you know the one with the photos.

Socal Weekend

Well this has turned into a rather social weekend. Wednesday night we got together for a movie, Thursday was Monopoly night. Last night we did scifi movie night. And tonight it looks like there will be grilling and another movie. So all in all there is much socializing that has happened this weekend.

Also this weekend I took my framing class. Now I know how to use the stuff at the shop there and I can make my own frames. This is a good deal for me. Seeing as how I can frame my own stuff and all. I want to get a good 8x10 print out of that cottonwood tree picture I took and frame that up. And perhaps that shell on the beach. Actually I could also do the one of Coopers in the fall and the Lincoln monument and then hang all four up together. Do all of them in matching set ups and then put them all up on the wall in here. Since I get to decorate this room as I see fit. Hooray for one room I get to decorate!

Anyhow, I have a few things to take care of, so I may cut this a bit short. Need to vacuum and then put out some mail. Perhaps a bit of a nap will be in order. That way the fun and excitement can continue tonight.

AHhh... RDO

Greetings once again, I hope all has been well for you out there.

Well, this week was packed. A lot went on at work and such, but I got through it all and am back to blog some more. I suppose this will be a short post as not much went on that is worth going into here, but if I should think of something I'll let ya'll know.

Last night was pizza and beer and monopoly with the people out here. It was quite fun. We ended in a draw because we didn't want to sit all night between me and the one other guy. But there was drinking and fun and I believe people had some fun.

As for today there was some cleaning and organizing and a couple errands. Its nice to have an RDO to take care of stuff around here. Tomorrow I'm taking a framing class, for which I still need to locate a 5x7 picture.

Other then that I am once again updating my PS3, because apparently that is what it likes to do. Then I might see about playing a few games and such. There maybe another posting soon on the other blog, I'm sure that some of you can find a link for it, otherwise I will wish you well.

So Much Blogging!

Greetings Blog Fans! I know that you are all excited. Its yet another post, and this one contains less nerdiness. To protect you all, I have branched out again, and now the nerdiness has its own particular blog which can be found here. It is quite fun and will probably have some interesting posts on it.

Next up, This weekend I went on a hike up near Cloudcroft. I have posted some pictures on the photo blog which can be located here. Be warned though, this is probably not what you think of when you think of New Mexico. Cloudcroft is up in the Sacramento mountains, which is about 9000 ft above sea level. Which is quite a jump up from down here in the basin. They have gotten snow while none falls down here, and while on Saturday our high was about 70, up in Cloudcroft it hit 43.

And while we are on the subject of photos, Stella has some wonderful photos of the Cherry Blossoms in DC on her blog, which is found here. They are quite good, I keep trying to convince her that she is a really good photographer.

And while we are linking to other blogs, I might as well put in links to the Forky blog, where you can read about the Boy and his fight with the pollen and dealing with other Hokies and such. And then there is the Skip blog, which prominently features the Widge!

And if anyone else has located my blog and would like a link to theres, just let me know.

A blast from the past!

Greetings!

I thought that you might all enjoy this. Yes, it is an orginal Nintendo Entertainment System (that would be NES) [And yes, I linked to wikipedia so any of you youngsters who don't know about it can read up]. It is hooked up to a HDTV. On a side note, has anyone gotten there light gun to work with an LCD tv. Either it doesn't work, or my light gun is toast. Any how enjoy some Super Mario Brothers.

And yes, its not the fastest time through the level, but it has been a while since I've pulled this out and it is my first run through. So just enjoy the video.

More Nerdiness!

Greetings again blogfans!

Well, I have been here a full six months now. More then that, but not by much. I've gotten to experience much of the desert, like the joy of being about an hour from the nearest best buy. Living near a huge missile range. Being in April and at this point only having 0.07" of rain this year. So for a few things of learned...

This isn't suburbia, lets face it. If you are thinking you're coming to a city no such luck.

If you want night life, this isn't the place to be.

If you like the outdoors, this place is great. You have to get used to it but there honestly is plenty to do.

People will tell you there is nothing here, and if you believe them, then you'll find it to be so.

But more importantly some nerdiness.

First off we have some quotes from school.

And then there is always just plain nerd stuffs.

What Engineers say vs. What we mean

1. A number of different approaches are being tired.
We are still guessing at this point

2. Preliminary operational tests were inconclusive.
The darn thing blew up when we threw the switch.

3. The entire concept will have to be abandoned.
The only guy who understood the thing quit

4. All new
Parts are not interchangeable with previous design

5. Years of development
One finally worked

6. Extensive report is being prepared on a fresh approach to the problem.
We just hired 3 kids fresh out of college.

7. Please note an initial.
Let's spread the responsibility for the screw up

8 Give us the benefit of your thinking
We'll listen to what you have to say as long as it doesn't interfere with what we've already done

9. It depends...
Abandon all hope of a useful answer

10. The data bits are flexed through a collectimizer which strips the flow-gate arrays into virtual message elements.
I don't know

I feel that I'll leave it at that for now. Don't worry, something else will crop up at some point.

Happy April

Yes Blogfans, it is no longer March. I know that this comes as a shock to many of you, but it is really over. So now we can start the April posts. I hope that all of you are ready.

We'll start off with some good news. My second shower is now fixed. This is a very good thing, cause it means that now it works. So it is now much easier to clean. Hooray for that. Next off, next weekend I'm going camping. This means I have to go through my camping gear and such. Which isn't a problem, plus it means that I get to use my new pack. Hooray for that.

I think that I have some sort of illness, last night I crashed and was asleep for like 12 hours, so I've taken some meds and have been taking it easy today. So nothing overly exciting has happened today. Though yesterday I did go to an OA meeting, even if almost no one showed up.

I think that will be enough post for now, but I wanted to let you all know that I'm alright out here and will post again later.
